Building an economy that is fueled by renewable energy is one of the biggest challenges facing this country and it is a factor that should be considered when deciding for whom to vote.

With energy policy a focus of the 2008 presidential election, it is important to remind voters that the New York State Legislature also plays an important role in deciding our clean energy future right here in New York.

Vote Clean Energy NY is committed to identifying voters who recognize the state's important role and assisting them by:

• Finding out who represents them;
• Encouraging them to pledge to discover their local candidates’ positions on clean energy policy; and
• Reminding them to VOTE.

Vote Clean Energy NY is a member of the New York League of Conservation Voters Education Fund family of organizations.

Based in New York City and working through local chapters throughout the state, NYLCVEF educates and engages New Yorkers on environmental issues and the environmental decision-making processes at the local, regional and state government levels. NYLCVEF fosters open, nonpartisan discussion on environmental policy and empowers New Yorkers to be effective advocates on behalf of the environment.
